A Purgatory of Literary Mirth and Mischief
SINCE 1975
POOR SOULS PRESS / Scaramouche Books was originally established in 1975 under the small press imprint Scarecrow Books. In 1980 it became a subsidiary of Yossarian Universal News Service (YU) and joined a growing number of other imprints under the YU News Service banner. For over forty years it has maintained its literary presence as a publisher of books, chapbooks, mini-books, broadsides, magazines, dispatches, manifestos, post cards, flyers and posters with an emphasis and focus on works that explore the art of satire.
In addition to its own titles, POOR SOULS PRESS / Scaramouche Books is also the exclusive distributor of select titles from other small press publishers, including Alt-Poetry, Blighter's Almanac Press, Greydog Press, Malignant Press, My Daily Dope, Poetry Hash Press, and Wagon Train Books.
Copies of titles that are still in print, out of print, rare editions, limited editions and other available titles of various print runs can be ordered directly through a number of different online outlets, including AbeBooks, Bird & Beckett Books, Books, Inc., Chaucer's Books, Poems-For-All, Silver Birch Press, and Barnes & Noble and Amazon.
